How to Get to Munduk from Bali Airport

Munduk is roughly 80 km from Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS), but the drive takes around 2.5 to 3 hours because the last part climbs through the mountains on narrow, winding roads. Here is how to plan it.

Option 1: Private transfer (recommended)

A private car with a driver collects you at arrivals and drives you straight to your hotel in Munduk. It’s the most comfortable option after a long flight, you can stop for food or photos on the way, and the price is fixed per car rather than per person. See our Munduk transfer prices.

Option 2: Ride-hailing apps

Apps work well from the airport, but finding a car willing to drive to the highlands can be hit-and-miss, and return trips from Munduk are harder still because few app drivers are based in the area.

Option 3: Shuttle bus

Tourist shuttles run to Lovina on the north coast; from there you would still need a car up the hill to Munduk (about 45 minutes).

Route tips

• The usual route goes via Bedugul and Lake Beratan — a scenic stop to stretch your legs.
• Bring a light jacket: Munduk is much cooler than the coast, especially at night.
• If you land late, consider a night in the south and a daytime transfer with sightseeing stops.
